Internet's Impact

     The internet's impact on education is more than significant; the internet has completely revolutionized education. The effects are more than just the obvious like the fact that class can be taken online. Students are linking together from all across the world to meet in a virtual classroom where ideas can be shared and concepts can be learned. Thirty years ago, people would not even think that such things were possible and now it has become the norm. Students are not only frequently taking a class or two a semester online but some students are earning their entire degrees from colleges that they have never visited, some of which are thousands of mile or more from the school.

     But the impact is greater than just this; the world wide web is continuously decreasing the necessity of physical books. Students are no longer spend long weekends in libraries sifting through dusty books to compile a research paper for class. No, instead, students need not more than a computer lab where they have access to virtual books, online articles and texts on a far greater scale than even the largest of libraries. The greatest part is that with the advancing technology we are able to hold the internet in any room we want at any time (essentially).
